What does Sandpiper do?

Sandpiper helps schools to embed and strengthen a caring and supportive culture for staff. 

Why does it matter?

The teaching profession is both deeply worthwhile and highly demanding. For the sake of pupils, our schools, and every individual teacher, staff need to be able to flourish at work. Happy staff make for happy pupils which make for a happy and successful school. By gaining a clear picture of how daily practices impact personal wellbeing, schools can work to strengthen their care of staff. Sandpiper helps schools to build the sustainable culture of care for their staff that will offer them the best possible working environment.

How does it work?

In discussion with each school, Sandpiper offers a bespoke four-stage process. 

  1. A simple completely anonymised staff survey about school life and work
  2. Analysis of results data to establish trends, strengths and priorities to develop
  3. Group reflections with leadership and staff to gain a more personal perspective
  4. Benchmarking, feedback and practical focused recommendations  

 Sandpiper also offers a regular follow-up service of further consultation, surveys and analysis.

 Sandpiper offers an objective external survey of opinion and experience, fully anonymised, and completely confidential, something that's impossible to achieve internally.  It identifies trends and patterns, both internally and benchmarked against national norms.

We work in partnerships with schools offering a personal service. Surveys can be adapted to suit each school's practices and nomenclature. We are always ready to talk, happy to visit and open to your ideas as to how we can best help you.
